Life of French ladies in Wuhan
(english.cnhubei.com) There are currently about 50 French invested companies in Wuhan, capital city of central China¨s, the most among other Chinese cities. French firms brought about an investment of US$2.3 billion to the city which accounts for 33% of total French investment in China.
The investment and cooperation between Wuhan and French also bring French entrepreneurs and experts to the city. It is reported more 800 French people reside permanently in Wuhan, accounting for a quarter of the French population in China.
They live in the city, work and make contributions to the city and enjoy the life here.
Michel, general manager of Alstom, told reporter that he likes Wuhan and Hubei culture and East Lake is where he likes best.
＾Wuhan is like Paris with Yangtze River running across the city. It is romantic,￣ Michel said.
Golden Harbour, a housing estate in Wuhan Economic and Technology Development Zone has attracted 40 French families to live.
Planning on the establishment of an industrial base for French companies is underway in Wuhan to promote economic cooperation. It may attract more French and promote better co-operations and exchanges between Wuhan and France.
